Conceived in 2008, and celebrating its first edition in 2010, PhotoIreland Festival is Ireland’s first international festival of Photography and Image Culture, and the main festival dedicated to Photography in Ireland. It celebrates Ireland’s photographic talents – oftentimes only recognised abroad – as well as bringing international practitioners and artists to Ireland. The festival highlights, promotes and elevates Photography in Ireland – conferring on it the importance it duly deserves. With the motto “vibrant, friendly, all-inclusive: a festival for all to enjoy”, we set out to raise awareness on local and international photographers and artists working with Photography, and to underline the work of those organisations and individuals that for years have been promoting an engagement with the medium.

Concebido en 2008 y que celebra su primera edición en 2010, PhotoIreland Festival es el primer festival internacional de fotografía y cultura de la imagen de Irlanda, y el principal festival dedicado a la fotografía en Irlanda. Celebra los talentos fotográficos de Irlanda, que a menudo solo se reconocen en el extranjero, además de traer a profesionales y artistas internacionales a Irlanda. El festival destaca, promueve y eleva la fotografía en Irlanda, otorgándole la importancia que se merece. Con el lema “vibrante, amigable, todo incluido: un festival para que todos disfruten”, nos propusimos sensibilizar a los fotógrafos y artistas locales e internacionales que trabajan con la fotografía, y subrayar el trabajo de aquellas organizaciones e individuos que durante años han estado promoviendo un compromiso con el medio.
